German company Leoni, the biggest manufacturer in Europe and the world 4th in electrical systems, will invest EUR 32 million in a new production plant for car cable systems in Pleven region, Bulgaria, BalkanEngineer.com learned from the Bulgarian Ministry of Economy.
Leoni will invest EUR 16 million in construction and another EUR 16 million in procurement with machines and equipment. The company plans the production to begin till the end of 2018, continuing with building up new areas.
The investment will supply over 2000 jobs that will create a new impulse for the regional economic. It is expected the enterprise to reach its full capacity in 2020.
This is the biggest foreign investment for the last 10 years in the region.
