The global market for welding experiences fast growth, as it is expected to reach a value of 9.15 billion dollars during 2025, with an estimated yearly growth of around 10% in the next decade. Within this market, the cobot segment experiences noticeable growth, taking a much bigger share as manufacturers are looking for more flexible and rentable solutions regarding automation. This tendency highlights a change in the industry – the companies are placing much more emphasis on automation to overcome the lack of capable workforce, to improve their efficiency and remain competitive.

“The welding industry is facing a growing challenge: a serious shortage of skilled welders. The European Welding Federation (EWF) reports a shortage of around 300,000 skilled welders. This is where collaborative robots, or so-called cobots, come into play. With user-friendly programming, increased flexibility and lower initial costs, welding cobots are quickly becoming a game-changer for companies looking to increase productivity and perform high-quality welds,” commented to BalkanEngineer.com from the company Kiberys, specializing in the development of robotic systems - a subsidiary of the proven trading and engineering company Kimex.
The newest additions from Kiberys are precisely for the field of collaborative robotics, as cobots are much easier to program by less qualified personnel. “During the last few years cobots have expanded significantly, which makes them a practical solution for automation in welding processes. Their ability to work hand in hand with qualified welders, to improve and repeat the same high quality work and increase productivity, makes them a much more lucrative option in the production sector”, commented Kiberys.
