The Japanese company Nidec had started the construction of its future factory for electric motors in Novi Sad, Serbia, BalkanEngineer learned from Ekapija.com. The production at the new facility, which will cover an area of 26 000 m2, is expected to start at the end of 2022.
The plant for electric motors will be located in one of the industrial zones of the Serbian city. Nidec plans to hire 300 people during the first phase of its project. The company’s goal is to turn the factory in Novi Sad into a central base for the firm’s production activities in Eastern Europe, as well as headquarters of all companies in Nidec Group.
Founded in 1973 in Kyoto, today the Japanese company Nidec is one of the world leaders in the development of electric motors. The enterprise has the largest share on the international market for the production of spindle motors for hard drives.
