The Italian company De’Longhi, a specialist in the manufacture of coffee machines and other home appliances, plans to open a new factory in Romania, BalkanEngineer.com learned from Romania-Insider.com. To this end, the group has purchased 25 000 m2 of industrial space in Bihor County in the western part of the country.

Through the new investment, the Italian company aims to expand operations, reduce production and delivery time of its products, while maintaining the same high level of quality and control. More than 500 employees are expected to be hired at the new facility.

De’Longhi already has one plant in Romania, near Cluj-Napoca, which has been operating since 2012. Data from 2018 show that more than 2100 employees are working at the factory and the company registers a turnover of EUR 255 million. Globally, the group is present in 33 countries with commercial facilities.
