The high-speed railway Novi Sad – Subotica in Serbia to be constructed

On 25th April 2019, the Chinese Exim Bank signed an agreement for financing the high-speed rail link between Novi Sad and Subotica, Serbia. The investment project includes the construction of two lines and a total of 49 underpasses, overpasses and other similar facilities, BalkanEngineer.com learned from eKapija.com.

 

 

The Novi Sad – Subotica railway, the third section of the high-speed rail link on the Belgrade-Budapest route, is 108.2 km long.

 

The investment project, which will include the construction of new stations, the reconstruction and modernization of the railway junctions in Novi Sad, Vrbas and Subotica and the installation of energy infrastructure, is worth EUR 943 million. Another 9 railway stations are planned to be reconstructed, as well as a 1.6-kilometer viaduct is to be built in Vrbas.
