Greece and Albania signed a memorandum of cooperation in Brussels aimed at developing sustainable transport and facilitating trade within the European Union's Green Corridors initiative, BalkanEngineer.com learned from information provided by the ANA-MPA news agency and the European Commission. The agreement was signed on December 21, 2025, in the presence of European Commissioner for Enlargement Marta Kos.

The document provides for enhanced customs cooperation, digital data exchange, and measures to reduce the time it takes for goods to cross the border between the two countries. The aim is to achieve more efficient and environmentally sustainable transport links, in line with European green transformation policies.

On the Greek side, the memorandum was signed by the governor of the Independent Authority for Public Revenue, Yorgos Pitsilis, who stressed the importance of the initiative for improving regional connectivity and facilitating international trade.

The event was attended by representatives of the European Commission, the Central European Free Trade Agreement, and the customs and transport administrations of several countries in the region, underscoring the important regional nature of the Green Corridors initiative.
