The German technology group Siemens, through its Siemens Mobility division, is launching a large-scale investment project to build a new factory in Sibiu, Romania. The new facility will be located in Sibiu’s Western Industrial Zone on a site spanning over 50,000 m². The project will be implemented in two phases and will include production halls, administrative buildings, and a logistics center. The factory will specialize in the production of high-tech components for rail transport, including electronic systems and parts for rolling stock, which will be exported to Siemens’ global markets.

The investment is distinguished by a strong focus on sustainability - the building is designed as a “green” factory with zero carbon emissions, equipped with photovoltaic panels and modern energy management systems. The project is expected to initially create around 150 new jobs for highly qualified specialists and engineers. This will be Siemens’ fifth plant in Romania, establishing the country as a leading manufacturing hub for the company in Central and Eastern Europe.
