The German company BMZ Group is building a new battery plant in North Macedonia with 775 jobs

German battery manufacturer BMZ Group will invest €65 million ($70.2 million) in the opening of a new plant in North Macedonia. BalkanEngineer.com has learned this from Seenews.com.

 


The group has signed a contract to implement the investment with the Free Zone Authority of North Macedonia (TIDZ), the government governing body responsible for the development of free economic zones across the country.


The new battery manufacturing plant will create 755 jobs, with BMZ Group developing and manufacturing high-tech battery systems for a range of applications including medical, industrial, mobility and energy storage.


The new BMZ DOOEL Skopje facility will be used for the serial production of battery products and the total investment in the country will be realised over a 10-year period. Construction of the factory is scheduled to start at the end of the year and be completed within 24 months at thelatest.
