Turkish metal water hose manufacturer Flex Academy has started construction of a second plant in the Serbian town of Priboj. With an investment of 5 million euro, the company is expanding its production capacity creating 300 new jobs, BalkanEngineer.com has learned from SeeNews.com.

The new plant will be built on an area of 30.000 m2 and will include three production sections. The first section,
which will cover 10.000 m2, is the main focus of the initial investment stage, said company director Bulent Tasci. He said Flex Academy's development plans in Serbia are long-term, with total investment in the country expected to reach several billion euros over the next six to eight years.
The project will be completed within a year, and the new jobs will enable locals to become part of an established manufacturer in the industry. Flex Academy started operations in Priboj in 2018 and its current plant occupies 20.000 m2. The expansion of production is a sign of the company's steady development and confidence in Serbia's economic environment.
The company is wholly owned by Turkey's DMD Dis Ticaret, which operates under the brand name Eminflex. It is a family business founded by the Tasci family and an established name in the manufacture of flexible metal components. According to the 2023 financial report, Flex Academy had revenues of SR 2.7 billion (about 23 million euro) and net profit of SR 216.5 million.
