EVN Group modernizes low-voltage network in North Macedonia through investment by its subsidiary Elektrodistribucija

On October 17, 2025, North Macedonian company Elektrodistribucija, part of the Austrian energy group EVN, announced that it had invested €10.4 million in the first half of this year. The funds were used to implement large-scale infrastructure projects aimed at upgrading and modernizing the low-voltage electricity distribution network in the country, BalkanEngineer.com learned from a press release issued by the company.

As part of the investment program, 135 km of new low-voltage network have been built, outdated poles and power lines have been replaced, and new remote metering devices have been installed, allowing for more precise management and monitoring of the system.

 

The company emphasizes that the main goal of these activities is to increase the reliability of the network, reduce technical losses, and introduce modern solutions for managing the distribution infrastructure in line with current energy trends.

 

Elektrodistribucija also announced that it plans to invest an additional  2 million euro by the end of 2025 in similar projects as part of its long-term strategy to modernize the network and improve the quality of electricity supply for consumers in the country.
