Swiss-based company Clariant builds a cellulosic ethanol production plant in Romania

Swiss-based chemical concern Clariant started construction works of a large-scale cellulosic ethanol production plant from agricultural residue in Romania, BalkanEngineer.com learned from TheRomaniaJournal.ro.

 

 

The investment amounts about EUR 100 million and it is the first such plant of the Swiss company.

 

The new factory will be built in Podari municipality, Dolj district, and will start running as of 2020. It is expected to create 400 new jobs.

 

In the plant will be applied a concept, developed by the company over several years of research and testing of industrial plants, with a production capacity of 50,000 to 150,000 tons of cellulosic ethanol per year.
