Chinese precision machinery components manufacturer Shandong Golden Empire Precision Machinery Technology (GEB) will build a new production facility in Cuprija, in central Serbia. This was announced by Minister of Economy Adriana Mesarovic on 24 July 2025, as quoted by SeeNews. The estimated value of the investment is EUR 30 million, and the project will represent one of the most significant new industrial ventures in the region, BalkanEngineer.com has learned from the official statement.

According to the information provided by Serbian institutions, the new plant will specialize in the production of precision mechanical components, probably for the needs of mechanical engineering, automotive industry and other heavy machinery. The location in Čuprija - logistically strategically located between Belgrade and Niš - was chosen in view of the industrial infrastructure as well as the availability of a "workforce with a technical profile".
The GEB plant will create new jobs and support sustainable economic development in the region. The project is expected to commence shortly and details of the construction schedule and production capacity will be formally presented by the investor at a later stage.
GEB is based in East China's Shandong Province and specializes in the development and production of high precision metal components. Its products are used in a range of industrial sectors including automation, automotive, robotics and heavy engineering. With the investment in Serbia, GEB marks its first manufacturing expansion in Southeast Europe.
