One of Europe's most modern sunflower oil refineries has opened in the village of Karapelit in Dobrich, Bulgaria. The investment, made by Class Oil, is worth €10 million and doubles the company's production capacity. This is what BalkanEngineer.com learned from a press release of the Bulgarian company.

With the new facility, the company will now be able to process up to 500 t per day, with most of the production destined for export. The oil is bottled for various customers, including leading retail chains in Europe. The refinery operates with a fully automated process and minimal use of chemicals, with raw material sourced from local producers. According to company officials, the capacity expansion will significantly improve the competitiveness of Bulgarian production on the international market.
The project is important not only for the company, but also for the region, which is one of the main producers of sunflower in Bulgaria. The new refinery will provide more opportunities for local farmers and create additional jobs.
Klas Olio is part of the Magic Flame group and has over 20 years of history in sunflower seed processing and vegetable oil production.
