The Serbian city of Nis continues to grow as an industrial hub after German company BOGE Rubber & Plastics announced the launch of a major investment. The plant, which will occupy 40,000 m2 in the North 2 industrial zone, will create hundreds of jobs and strengthen the region's position in the automotive sector, BalkanEngineer.com has learned from a statement by Niš Mayor Dragoslav Pavlovic. Construction is expected to be completed within a few months, after which production will start immediately.

BOGE, part of China's Zhuzhou Times New Material Technology, has offices in 11 countries, including Germany, the US and China, and reports annual revenues of more than €719 million. The company is a leading supplier of vibration control products and solutions and plastic components for the automotive sector.
The mayor of Nis also said that infrastructure in North 2 is a priority for the local government, with 50 ha currently occupied and another 30 ha remaining vacant for new investors. He stressed that the construction of new industrial zones and the provision of adequate infrastructure are among the priority factors for attracting strategic investors. He said the BOGE would not only open up new jobs but also encourage the development of related industries in the region.
