Romanian building materials company ROCA Industry has announced that its subsidiary BICO Industries has entered into a financing agreement with the local Environmental Fund Administration for the construction of a new fibreglass factory. Construction of the production facility is expected to be completed by mid-2026, BalkanEngineer.com has learned from the company's announcement.

The investment will amount to 37.8 million lei (approximately EUR 7.6 million), with 22.7 million lei to be provided through grant funding under the National Recovery and Sustainability Plan (NRRP).

The production of the new factory will be focused on unfabricated fibreglass, which will be obtained by recycling fibreglass waste both from BICO Industries' own operations and from waste collection in the market. The company thus plans to reduce its waste management costs and increase its product portfolio.

ROCA Industry, which owns 60% of BICO Industries' capital, was founded in 2018 by ROCA Investments and operates as a holding company for building materials. According to data from the Bucharest Stock Exchange, ROCA Industry's shares rose 1.53% on April 23, closing at 0.798 lei.
