As the new owner of the largest Romanian steel mill, Liberty Steel plans to invest EUR 200 million in the facility. In July this year, the company acquired seven production plants in the Czech Republic, Romania, Northern Macedonia, Italy and Belgium for EUR 740 million from ArcelorMittal Group, BalkanEngineer.com learned from Romania-Insider.com.

According to Liberty Steel’s general manager, the company is planning a total investment of more than EUR 400 million for the seven newly acquired manufacturing plants to expand its product portfolio and enhance product quality.

Assessing the conditions and trends of the international markets, Liberty Steel expects its production activities to rise above the European average, with an increase 3.1% for its Romanian business.
