Positioned in a rapidly developing zone in Vitosha, Sofia South Ring Mall is one of the most significant architectural projects in the capital over the last decade. In order for the hundreds of sites to work without a problem, modern climate systems and the large atriums with natural light, a reliable energy infrastructure is paramount. This task has been undertaken by Engineering EAD, part of the Filkab holding. The company has decades of experience in implementing complex energy solutions and is an established name in the sector.

The power supply project for the Sofia shopping mall includes a series of complex engineering operations that must guarantee stability during high peak loads. The main focus of the work is the construction of a new 20kV cable line - the backbone of the energy system, connecting the mall to the medium voltage transmission network.
The process requires precise planning and installation, including the management of cables СрН and HH, while the specifics of the location and high requirements for safety put an emphasis on using materials with high durability and long exploitation life. "Work on a site of such a scale does not tolerate compromises with technological consistency. Each route and each connection are designed to accommodate both the current needs of the complex and to provide the necessary reserve for future technological expansions," Engineering EAD informed BalkanEngineer.com. According to experts, one of the critical moments in the implementation is the synchronization between the laying of the 20kV cable lines and the features of the project, which requires exceptional mobilization of technical resources.
The technical implementation includes the laying of medium and low voltage routes, where the most important factor is durability. So, while Sofia South Ring Mall is situated in a zone with specific subsoil conditions, the materials are chosen in such a way, that they resist moisture and vibrations, without leading to defects in isolation in the future.
