The tobacco concern Вrіtіѕh Аmеrісаn Тоbассо (ВАТ) will invest EUR 800 million in its factory in Ploiești, Romania, til the end of 2022, the company announced for BalkanEngineer.com. The aim of the investment is to expand the tobacco heating glo products markets in Europe in the second half of 2018.
Ploiești factory will produce a new generation tobacco sticks, called Neostiks that work with glo heating device. The investment includes building of 7000 m2 new production area and providing nearly 200 work places.
The Romanian plant will be the only supplier of the tobacco heating product Neostiks for the whole Europe. Now 60% of the products produced in Romania are exported for 45 countries. It’s expected this share to reach 70%.
