World bank announced that on 23rd of Mach this year its Board of Directors approved lending a loan of USD 50 million to Serbia. The loan is regarding the completion of the project “Scaling Up Residential Clean Energy”, found out BalkanEngineer.com by eKapija.com. The funding is meant to help the country decarbonize its economy as well as encourage its citizens to engage in the clean energy transition.
The project is designed to save up energy, and to assure of better comfort and heating methods for Serbia’s households. Thus, investments in effective heating solutions and rooftop solar photovoltaic systems are going to be made.
The funding of residential heating is suggested to cover up to 25 000 households in the 5-years period of the project “Scaling Up Residential Clean Energy”. Moreover, around 2500 Serbian households are going to receive social inclusion financing.
