Wilo Group welcomes industry representatives to its ultra-modern base in Dortmund as host of the “Factory of the Year” forum

The international company known for its water technologies Wilo Group was among the hosts in the forum “Factory of the Year” in Germany. The two-day industrial congress was organized at the conference center Westfalenhallen in Dortmund, and Wilo, as the winner of the 2024 award, welcomed to its factory previous and current winners, as well as representatives from the industry.

Since its inception in 1992, “Factory of the Year” is considered one of the most important contests in the European production industry. Thanks to its avant-garde production base, which uses digitalization and automation to achieve a high degree of operational flexibility, Wilo Group achieved renown in 2024, which put it next to Porsche (2023), Rational (2022), Siemens (2021) and Volkswagen (2020). "Factory of the Year" has affirmed and stimulated us. It shows that we are constantly aligning our production with the criteria of efficiency, sustainability and digital and AI excellence – and setting new standards worldwide along the way," commented Mr. Georg Weber, Global Technical Director of the Wilo Group.

This year, the company entered the role of host, “The evening before the main event and the 2025 awards ceremony, Wilo welcomed past and current winners of the competition to the exclusive “Champions Club” in the Networking Cube at Wilopark. Guests had the opportunity to take a look at production during a factory tour and to see for themselves how digitalization, automation and flexibility are applied in all areas – with a holistic approach that impressed the expert jury last year,” Wilo said.

Wilo’s smart factory in the Wilopark complex opened doors in 2019 after an investment of over 125 million euros and 36 months of construction. With an area of ​​55,000 m², centrifugal monoblock pumps with a dry rotor are made, which are mainly used in heating and air conditioning systems.
