German industrial group Villeroy & Boch has announced the official opening of a new high-tech PVD (Physical Vapor Deposition) coating production line at its sanitary fittings plant in Sevlievo, Bulgaria. The multi-million dollar investment is part of the company's long-term strategy to expand its manufacturing capabilities and establish itself as a leader in the premium faucet and shower segment, BalkanEngineer.com has learned from the company's announcement.

The new PVD line enables the application of extremely durable and visually spectacular coatings on products made of brass, stainless steel and even plastic. The process is high-precision, zero-waste and zero-emission, making it sustainable from both an environmental and manufacturing standpoint. Thanks to this technology, the company is expanding its product portfolio to include coloured and textured finishes to suit contemporary interior trends - including matt gold, copper, bronze, anthracite and satin silver grey. The new product lines, which will be the first to include PVD coatings, are La Dolce Vita, Connect Air, Conca, IdealRain Solos, IdealSpray and Joy.
Following the acquisition of Ideal Standard in 2023, Villeroy & Boch has significantly expanded its presence in the sanitary products segment. The new investment in Sevlievo is a logical continuation of the integration and transformation of the Group's production network.
The Sevlievo plant is already establishing itself as a strategic production and innovation hub. "The Bulgarian plant plays an extremely important role in our network - not only as a production capacity, but also as a source of innovation and operational flexibility. With this investment, we are increasing our autonomy and our ability to respond quickly to consumer expectations," emphasized Georg Lertz, COO Bath & Wellness at the company.
