The leading Turkish manufacturer of heating elements for household appliances Sahterm Elektrikli Isiticilar San. ve Tic. A.S. intends to expand its operations with a significant investment in North Macedonia, BalkanEngineer.com has learned from SeeNews.com. The company has struck a deal with North Macedonia's Directorate of Technological Industrial Development Zones (TIDZ) to build a €100 million factory in the capital Skopje.

Under the terms of the agreement, Sahterm will lease over 20,000 m² of land in the growing industrial area of Skopje 2. The plan includes the construction of a large production facility covering more than 13,000 m² in the initial phase of the project. This expansion marks Sahterm's first production facility outside of Turkey, signaling a strategic step in the company's international growth.

The investment will be realized over the next 10 years and is expected to create over 1,000 new jobs, making a significant contribution to the local economy. In addition, the scope of the project includes the opening of a development center.

Sahterm is well known for manufacturing a diverse range of heating elements for home appliances. More than half of the company's total annual production is currently exported, highlighting its competitive advantage in international markets.
