The Albanian branch of Turkish specialised vehicle manufacturer RN Auto Industry is planning to expand its production lines in the country to include not only vehicles for civilian use, but also armoured vehicles for military use, destined for export. This BalkanEngineer.com learned from an official social media message of Albania's Minister of Economy, Culture and Innovation Blendi Gonja.

The company, which is headquartered in Ankara and has over 25 years of experience in vehicle engineering, will enter the Albanian market as early as 2021. Its subsidiary RN Auto Industry Albania is establishing itself as an important player with a young and highly skilled team applying advanced engineering solutions in the production of fire trucks, ambulances, tankers, trailers and specialized vehicles.
Although no specific timeline is given for the start of production of the military platforms, Minister Gonja stresses that the expansion is directly linked to Albania's improved business environment and the country's aspiration to become a regional hub for industrial production and technological innovation.
RN Auto Industry already has an established presence in Romania and Jordan through its subsidiaries, and investment in Albania is emerging as a good strategic move to access European and Middle Eastern markets. It is expected that armoured vehicles produced in Albania will meet international security standards and be targeted at countries that are modernising their defence equipment.
