The competition for sustainable projects in the water sector "Wilo Pioneer Award" has started - you can apply until September 15, 2026.

With the belief that water is not only a resource, but a shared responsibility, producer of water technologies Wilo has commenced its own yearly competition, where solutions are presented with a focus on innovation, intelligence and the pioneering spirit. "With the Wilo Pioneer Award, we recognize successful projects of our customers that set new standards in terms of sustainability in the water sector. Anyone wishing to participate in the 2026 edition can submit their applications by September 15th of this year," Wilo informed BalkanEngineer.com.

The award “Wilo Pioneer Award” is handed to projects that improve the quality of life within three categories that Wilo has a link to, specifically creation, care and connection – by integrating intelligent manufacturer solutions, responsible actions and strong partnerships. At the core of the initiative lies the most valuable resource in the world judging by Wilo – water.

"Even if we strive every day to use water efficiently and sustainably, real progress is only possible when industry experts trust in intelligent and sustainable solutions. For more than 150 years, we at Wilo have shared this pioneering spirit and together we continue to improve the quality of life of people around the world. That's why we look for projects that really make a difference," Wilo commented.

The event involves the integration of Wilo smart water technologies in these areas:

• Efficient water supply;
• Disposal of wastewater and treatment;
• Innovations in hygiene;
• Water saving initiatives;
• Future-oriented air conditioning and heating technologies.

“The aim is to show how, through modern technologies, the water sector is also enabling the entry into the era of digitalization and artificial intelligence,” the company added.

The “Wilo Pioneer Award” demonstrates the contribution of each Wilo integrator to society and the environment. Regional winners are selected from all applications from the three regions: America, AMEA (Asia, Middle East and Africa) and Europe, and global winners are determined from among the regional finalists.
