Textile machinery manufacturer Karl Mayer will invest €500 million in new facilities in Romania

German textile machinery manufacturer Karl Mayer is ready to invest 500 million euros in the construction of two factories and a technical support center in the northwestern Romanian county of Maramures, BalkanEngineer.com has learned from SeeNews.com. The strategic move aims to expand the company's global operations and improve its manufacturing capabilities.

 

 

The first phase of the project involves the relocation of Karl Mayer's sewing needle production unit from Asia to the city of Baia Mare, Romania. The facility will be located on the former industrial site of IMMUM. The company has already secured a production hall and plans to start construction soon. In the second phase, Karl Mayer will establish a service center in Baia Mare to provide service and maintenance of the equipment in the region. The latest stage of Karl Mayer's investment program envisages the construction of a numerically controlled (CNC) machine factory for the textile industry. It will be located on an area of ​​12 ha in Groşi, Maramures County, representing the largest part of the total investment.

 

Karl Mayer's project is expected to create around 700 new jobs in the region, significantly boosting the local economy.

 

Established in 1937, Karl Mayer has a long history in the textile machinery industry and operates subsidiaries in the USA, India, Italy, Hong Kong, Japan, China, Bangladesh and Switzerland. Its team consists of over 3,100 people worldwide.
