A survey on the development of the IT sector in Northern Macedonia

Between 6th February and 6th March 2019, the Macedonian portal IT.mk reviewed the state of the IT industry in the country, BalkanEngineer.comlearned fromDenar.mk. The survey covers thousands of specialists in the field, including programmers, developers, graphic designers and professionals in digital marketing.

 

 

The survey of the Macedonian portal looked at factors such as average earnings of the IT specialists, gender, level of education, certificates and more. The survey results show that more than half of the IT professionals are between 25 and 34 years of age. Of these, 80.96% are men, and only 19.04% are women. Most of them have completed higher education and have some kind of certificate.

 

Both local companies and foreign organizations’ representatives are developing in the IT sector in the country. The specialists working in the foreign companies receive significantly higher rewards than their colleagues from the local Macedonian firms. The survey data also show that Java developers are the highest paid professionals.
