Serbia plans to become one of Europe’s pioneers in the production of humanoid robots for industrial use

Serbia is preparing to become one of the first countries on the European continent to launch its own production of humanoid robots, BalkanEngineer.com learned from the Serbian news agency Tanjug.rs. “This strategic move will position the country at the forefront of Europe’s technology landscape and give a powerful boost to the local high-tech industry,” said Marko Čadež, president of the Serbian Chamber of Commerce (PKS).

During his remarks, Čadež emphasized the revolutionary development of technology and noted that building the hardware is only one side of the process. Software integration and the way artificial intelligence (AI) is developed are extremely critical aspects. He stressed that it is of fundamental importance to understand how artificial intelligence is trained in human values and ethics so that future robotic systems can operate safely and effectively to support business and society. Serbia is actively investing in research centers and expertise to address these contemporary challenges.

The launch of robot production is expected to attract significant international investment and transform Belgrade into a regional hub for innovation. Additional benefits highlighted include the future promotion of cooperation between government institutions, the academic community, and the private sector, as well as the creation of new high-paying jobs for young engineers, programmers, and robotics specialists in Southeast Europe.
