The Romanian company Rompetrol Rafinare plans to resume operations at Petromidia Navodari refinery by the end of September, BalkanEngineer.com learned from SeeNews.com. The company had ceased its activities after an explosion that occurred at the diesel hydrotreating unit on 2nd July this year.

The refinery will be operational after the delivery of equipment needed to carry out repairs and inspections of the units affected by the accident. Rompetrol is planning the phased commissioning of its production units in operational mode. The company’s installations must also be tested in accordance with safety regulations and certified by the relevant competent authorities.

Rompetrol Rafinare, owned by Kazakhstan’s state energy company KazMunaiGaz Group, operates two oil refineries in Romania. The enterprise produces various types of fuels, bitumen, solvents, additives and other special products.
