Romanian courier company Sameday has unveiled its new logistics hub in the city of Gimbau, Brasov County. The investment in it amounts to 21 million lei (4.2 million euro), BalkanEngineer.com has learned from a company announcement. The facility, located on an area of 6.800 m2 within the Sofimat Logistic Park, is designed for more efficient sorting and processing of small and medium-sized shipments.

The new hub features an automated system that can handle up to 7.000 shipments weighing up to 20 kg/h, as well as a manual belt for non-standard parcels with a capacity of 1.200 shipments per hour. On its busiest day, the hub handled 49.000 shipments.
According to the company, the volume of deliveries in the eastern part of the country has increased by more than 28% in 2024, which has necessitated an expansion of logistics capacity. The hub will serve Sameday's 22 local agencies through direct routes, improving delivery efficiency.
Sameday, part of eMAG since 2017, specialises in the delivery of non-food, fashion, second-hand and food products. According to CEO Lucian Baltharu, the new facility will streamline logistics processes and ensure a more reliable service in the context of growing customer needs.
