Romania's car production set a new record in 2022, reaching over 500,000 units

According to ACAROM data, in 2022 the total production of Dacia and Ford exceeded 500,000 cars for the first time, which means a new record for Romania, BalkanEnineener.com learned from Romaniajournal.ro. Compared to last year, the increase is over 80,000 pieces.
In December 2022, 35,930 cars were produced in Romania. Of these, 22,593 were made by the Dacia plant in Mioveni, and 13,337 by the Ford Romania Otosan production base in Craiova.
For the whole of 2022, the production of passenger cars in Romania reached a volume of 509,465 units, which is an absolute record for the production of cars in the country. The increase is 21% compared to 2021.
The total production for the last seven years is as follows:
- 2022: 509,465 units;
- 2021: 420,755 units;
- 2020: 438,107 units;
- 2019: 490,412 units;
- 2018: 476,769 units;
- 2017: 359,250 units;
- 2016: 359,306 units.
