A Romanian company invests EUR 12 million in production of batteries

The Romanian producer of vehicle starter batteries Rombat Bistrita is investing EUR 12 million in a lithium-ion battery production line, BalkanEngineer.com learned from Romania-Insider.com. The facility will have a capacity of 1 million units per year.

 

 

The production plant, which covers an area of ​​5000 m3 on two levels, is located in Bucharest. The company will continue to produce lead-acid batteries, but will also introduce lithium-ion batteries. Rombat Bistrita plans to start the factory in early February 2020.

 

With the investment, the company aims to keep pace with the trends in the international automotive industry, where the sales of electric vehicles are expected to reach 50% of all new car sales by 2030.
