The Romanian automotive market registered an increase of 7.6% in June and 10.7% in the first six months of this year compared to 2018, BalkanEngineer.com learned from Romania-Insider.com. The total sales of passenger cars and light commercial vehicles (up to 3.5 t) reach 98 500 units for the first half of the year.
Compared to the previous year, passenger car sales in Romania have increased by 11.9%. This is mainly due to the increase in the number of individual customers.
In the passenger car segment, the Romanian Dacia brand holds the first position with 26 200 units sold, representing 31% of the entire car market. Renault sales are second with 8200 units (9.7% market share), followed by Volkswagen with 7400 units (8.8% market share).
