Romanian gas transmission system operator Transgaz and Slovakian gas transporter Eustream signed a Memorandum of Understanding, which will check if the construction of the Eastring gas pipelinethat will cross both countries is possible, BalkanEngineer.com learned from Romania-Insider.com.
Romania and Slovakia will cooperate in their role as gas transmission system operators in their own countries. By signing the Memorandum, the parties expressed their agreement to collaborate with other gas operators from the Czech Republic, Ukraine, Hungary and Bulgaria.
Eastring will be a bi-directional gas pipeline interconnector between Slovakia and the external border of the European Union and the feasibility study of the project should be completed by June 2018.
