Progress with a deal to buy Chef

The software company Progress entered into a definitive agreement for the acquisition of the world leader in the field of DevOps and DevSecOps Chef, BalkanEngineer.com learned from a Progress press release.

 

 

The deal amounts to $ 220 million and the procedure is expected to be finalized in October 2020 after regulatory consents and satisfaction of other customary closing conditions.

 

Chef, which was founded in 2008, provides complete infrastructure automation to build, deploy, manage and secure applications in modern multi-cloud and hybrid environments, as well as on-premises. The company develops the products Chef Enterprise Automation Stack, Chef Infra, Chef InSpec, Chef Habitat, Chef Compliance and Chef Desktop.

 

Progress provides a platform for developing and implementing strategic business applications. The company was established in 1981 and has 16 offices on 6 continents today. Progress operates in Bulgaria through its office in the city of Sofia.
