Knauf Insulation plans to invest 19 million euro in its factory for mineral wool in Surdulica, Serbia, by early 2022, BalkanEngineer.com learned from Ekapija.com. This is the last phase of the company’s big investment plan with a total value of over 50 million euro.

Most of the new investments will go for the construction of environmental protection facilities. Currently, the company is building a taller and more modern chimney, implementing a rainwater filtration system and increasing its capacity for recycling waste wool. Knauf Insulation is also working to increase the energy efficiency of the plant’s facilities, and is building a modern truck parking lot in the complex.

The company also plans a modernization of its production equipment and packaging. The ultimate goal of Knauf Insulation is the implementation of more modern technological solutions, through which to further increase the quality of the produced mineral wool.
