DEHN, a German company specializing in surge and lightning protection solutions, will build a new plant in the Romanian city of Pitești, BalkanEngineer.com has learned from a company press release. It said the facility will serve the growing needs of the European market and complement the company's global manufacturing network.

The location was chosen after a thorough analysis of several locations across Europe. Pitest stands out for its skilled workforce, favourable business environment and suitable infrastructure. The plant will be located in the CTPark Pitești industrial park, northwest of Bucharest, with approximately 10 million euro invested in its construction.
The new facility will produce customised products in smaller series that require precise manual labour. Unlike the German plants, which will remain focused on highly automated, high-volume processes, the Romanian facility will provide greater flexibility to meet specific customer needs.
Construction will last around 10 months, with production expected to start in mid-2026. The new plant will create up to 150 new jobs and bring additional economic benefits to the region. According to Dr. Philipp Den, CEO of DEHN SE, this investment is the first step in a planned long-term strategy to internationalise and better serve European customers.
