The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) is allocating 25 million euro to support investments in North Macedonia, Romania and Moldova, BalkanEngineer.com learned from Seenews.com. The sum is designated for electromobility projects of the German automobile company Fritz Draexlmaier.

The bank’s funding will be used to accelerate the implementation of Fritz Draexlmaier’s low-carbon strategy in the three countries. It includes the development and production of automotive components that are essential for the electrification of transport – high voltage cables and battery systems, which are key elements of electric vehicles. For this purpose, the manufacturer plans to invest a total of 350 million euro.

Fritz Draexlmaier is an international automotive supplier with 75 000 employees and around 65 locations in more than 20 countries worldwide. The German company entered the Romanian market in 1993, while its operations in North Macedonia started in 2012 with the opening of a factory in Kavadarci.
