Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA), part of the Stellantis group, started series production of the Fiat Grande Panda electric car at its plant in Kragujevac, Serbia, in the third week of January, BalkanEngineer.com has learned from SeeNews.com. Stellantis and the Serbian government have already invested €190 million to upgrade the production lines, with the project also receiving €73 million in funding from the European Investment Bank.

On the investment, Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic stressed that if more than 100,000 vehicles are produced in 2025, the country's economic growth could exceed 4.2-4.3%.
The new Fiat Grande Panda, inspired by the 1980s model, will be available in electric and hybrid versions and will be distributed in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
Stellantis owns 67% of FCA Serbia and the remaining 33% is owned by the Serbian government.
