E.ON Energia Romania has commissioned a new fast charging station for electric vehicles located in Târgu Mureș, central Romania, BalkanEngineer.com learned from Romania-Insider.com. Thus the company completes the so-called “electric highway” along the Iași- Gheorgheni-Târgu Mureș route.

Electric car owners can now use the charging infrastructure along the entire route, which has a total of 7 stations. E.ON Energia Romania is currently operating another similar electric vehicle network along the Iași-Bucharest route, for which 8 charging points have already been built. The company also plans to build a station in the city of Râmnicu Vâlcea.

The initiative of E.ON Energia Romania is part of the “NEXT-E” project, which is co-financed by the European funds. As a partner of the project, the Romanian company MOL is also planning to install additional 21 charging stations in the country in the coming years.
