Enel invests more than EUR 11 million in smart meters for measuring electricity in Romania

The energy company Enel Group plans to install more than 171 000 smart meters for its customers in Banat, Dobrogea and Muntenia, Romania. The investment projects amount to more than EUR 11 million, BalkanEngineer.com learned from Business-review.eu.

 

 

“Intelligent meters will lay the foundations for building future smart grids that will be able to meet the challenges of energy transition, encouraging the development of clean, sustainable and efficient energy systems,” reported Enel Group.

 

By the end of 2019, more than 671 000 Romanian customers of Enel Group will benefit from the smart metering systems. This is part of the company’s strategy to deploy smart meters for all of its 2.9 million users in Romania.
