On 24th April 2020, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) approved its new strategy for economic recovery in Romania, BalkanEngineer.com learned from Romania-Insider.com. The document will guide the bank’s investments and commitment in the country over the next five years.

The bank’s investments will be targeted at rebuilding the areas in Romania that need the most support – building infrastructure, boosting the private sector productivity and further developing the financial sector. EBRD will work with Romanian companies to improve their competitiveness, create more innovative products and processes, and introduce new technologies.

The bank will continue to support the diversification in the financial sector, contributing to the development of local capital markets and financial decisions. To increase access to finance for small and medium-sized enterprises, EBRD will cooperate with other banks and non-banking financial institutions.
