Dona Group, one of the largest vertically integrated pharmaceutical companies in Romania, will receive €12.5 million granted by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) to support its plans to expand and upgrade services, Balkanengieer.com has learned from Romania-insider.com.

The EBRD loan will support the group's three-year capital expenditure plan and consolidate its market position through the acquisition of licences, thereby expanding its sales network with around 48 new pharmacies by the end of 2023 (an increase of 11%) and will renovate its already existing pharmacies.

The funds will also support the further development of Dona Group's wholesale business through the purchase of equipment necessary for the recent expansion of the warehouse network, as well as the internal organization of transport services through the development of its own transport company DonaCargo.

Among other features, the project will introduce a new, replicable and internally accredited training program upskilling up to 240 people in partnership with local vocational schools or universities.
