One of the largest and most complex infrastructure projects in Romania – the bridge over the Danube near Braila, will be put into operation at the end of 2022, BalkanEngineer.com learned from Romania-insider.com. Along with it 10 km of new connecting roads will be constructed.

The contractor of the project is an Italian-Japanese joint venture. The suspension bridge, which will connect the counties of Braila and Tulcea in Eastern Romania, will be 2 km long and will rise to a height of almost 200 m. European funds amounting to 94.4 million euro have been invested in it since the beginning of the year.

To date, the construction work on the bridge is progressing according to schedule. The facility, together with the infrastructure connecting it, will be part of the Braila – DN22 route.
