Daimler launched the production of a new product in Romania

The German automaker Daimler launched the production of a new type of automatic gearbox in its factory in Sebes, Romania, BalkanEngineer.com learned from Romania-Insider.com. The new 8-speed gearbox is called 8G-DCT and is designed for the new Mercedes-Benz B Class models.

 

 

Daimler’s factory in Sebes is the only one in the world to produce the new gearbox, for the purpose of which two new bases with a total area of ​​54 000 m2 were built. Currently automatic gearboxes with 7 and 9 gears are also being produced there.

 

The expansion of the product range, such as the production of a new type of gearbox in Sebes, highlights the importance, flexibility and high performance of the Romanian centers within the global powertrain of Mercedes-Benz Cars.
