Chinese industrial giant Haitian International Holding has officially begun trial operations at its new production complex in Ruma, Serbia, BalkanEngineer.com learned from a press release in the Serbian media. The company reports that it held an internal open house event for employees and partners, which effectively marks the first stage of the factory's commissioning. The press release also states that the plant has already produced over 50 plastic injection molding machines, with the first deliveries to customers already completed.

The initial production phase is focused on two of Haitian's most popular series – Mars (servo-hydraulic switching IMM) and Jupiter (servo-hydraulic double-platen IMM). Both lines are considered leaders in the global industry due to their efficiency and adaptability to different applications.

The company emphasizes that in order to meet the specific standards and requirements of the European processing industry, Haitian Serbia is expanding its team and actively recruiting engineers with experience in the design of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical components for injection molding machines. At the same time, a European R&D team is being set up to develop high-performance solutions tailored to the needs of local markets — from optimized equipment configurations to fully integrated turnkey production cells.

The new plant in Ruma will also serve as Haitian's central logistics hub for spare parts in Europe. Storage facilities are planned in both Serbia and Germany, as well as decentralized storage points in other countries on the continent. According to the company, this will significantly speed up deliveries of the most sought-after components and reduce customer downtime for service needs.

The production facility is part of Haitian's long-term European strategy, which aims at localized production, optimized logistics, enhanced research and development, and stable expansion potential. The plot around the factory includes additional areas earmarked for future investments.

Haitian announced its project in Rouma in 2022, and construction of the 100 million euro factory began in 2023. According to previous reports, mass production was scheduled to start in August this year. China's Haitian Group is recognized as the world's largest manufacturer of plastic injection molding machines used in a wide range of industries, from automotive and electronics to packaging and medical technology.
