The first charging station for electric cars under this year's Memorandum for construction of a public network of such devices between Burgas Municipality, Bulgaria and Eldrive was installed and put into operation, BalkanEngineer learned from a statement from the Municipality.

The station is located in the municipal parking lot "Gurko". The device is ABB DC Wallbox type, with a power of 24 kW and allows charging of mass models of electric cars in less than an hour. Access to the station is free for a one-hour stay, and after the first hour the stay in the parking lot is paid.

The charging station is the first of all 50 that the Municipality of Burgas and Eldrive have agreed to build by the end of 2021. Funding for provision and installation of the devices is secured under the "Construction of public charging infrastructure in urban environments - South Bulgaria" project , provided by Sustainable cities fund and United Bulgarian Bank AD.
