Bulgarian space company EnduroSat has taken another step into the global market with the successful attraction of a 43 million euro investment. This significant financial resource will be directed towards accelerating the production of the new Gen3 series of satellites and the construction of a state-of-the-art space centre in the capital Sofia with an area of 17,500 m2, BalkanEngineer.com has learned from the company's official announcement.

The lead investor is the US-based Founders Fund, founded by famous entrepreneur and billionaire Peter Thiel, co-founder of PayPal. Other key figures in the fund include Bulgarian Delyan Asparuhov, who is a partner in Founders Fund and co-founder of the space company Varda Space. The investment also attracted funds from CEECAT Capital, Morphosis Capital, and other current EnduroSat partners.
EnduroSat's new Gen3 satellites are designed with a modular architecture allowing for quick assembly and easy adaptation to different customer needs. They weigh between 200 and 500 kg and feature the use of widely available components from the consumer electronics and automotive industries, which is an innovative approach compared to traditional space technology. This solution significantly reduces production time and operational costs, making EnduroSat one of the most efficient satellite manufacturers in the world.
The company's founder Raicho Raichev says the new space centre in Sofia will be equipped with state-of-the-art development and testing laboratories, including dedicated facilities and high-tech equipment for simulating space conditions. Production capacity is planned to reach 60 satellites per month as early as the end of 2025.
The Bulgarian company has already implemented more than 3,000 modules in orbit and is establishing itself as a global leader supporting a wide range of customers, with active operations in Europe and the US.
