Bulgarian technology company Dronamics, the world’s first licensed cargo airline for unmanned aerial vehicles, has officially announced the opening of its subsidiary in Japan. The move is part of the startup’s strategy to enter the Asian market and establish partnerships with leading local companies in the logistics and technology sectors, BalkanEngineer.com learned from Dronamics’ official corporate portal.

The new Tokyo-based unit will focus on adapting the “Black Swan” unmanned aerial system to the needs of the Japanese market, which is showing increased interest in automated deliveries to remote islands and mountainous regions. Dronamics is already collaborating with major Japanese logistics operators and investment groups, with the goal of optimizing supply chains and reducing carbon emissions through the use of more efficient air transport.
Company executives emphasize that Japan offers an exceptionally favorable regulatory environment and modern infrastructure for the development of unmanned technologies. The company’s launch was preceded by a series of successful tests and certifications that confirm the safety and reliability of the Bulgarian technology. Dronamics’ presence in the region is expected to accelerate the rollout of autonomous cargo services throughout East Asia, establishing Bulgaria as a key exporter of innovation in the aviation industry.
