American manufacturer Gentherm expands its business in Skopje with an investment of 30 million euro

US-based Gentherm, which specialises in the manufacture of automotive thermal management and comfort components, has announced a major expansion project in northern Macedonia, with a 30 million euro investment that will support its growth in the region and create 300 new jobs. BalkanEngineer.com has learned this from a company announcement published in the North Macedonian press.

The plans are for a new production unit in Skopje, which will work alongside the existing plant in Prilep. According to the country's government, this will turn North Macedonia into a strategic hub for high-tech automotive components and thermal management solutions.

Prime Minister Hristian Mitskovski personally presented the news at a press conference, highlighting the importance of the investment for the country's economy and labour market. "This is another proven example that North Macedonia is attracting technology companies that want to develop in Europe," he said.

According to official figures, Gentherm has so far invested 20 million euro in the Prilep plant, and now the investment is almost doubling. "This shows the strong conviction of the American company in the potential of North Macedonia and its working resources," the country's media comment.

The investment in Skopje will improve the company's technological capacity and allow it to offer even higher quality products to its customers, while supporting the local economy with new jobs and the development of expertise.
