In Albania, private and concession power plants increased their production by 7.8%

According to a report by the National Statistical Institute of Albania (INSTAT), private power plants and plants operated under concession in Albania increased their production in the first quarter of 2024 by 7.8%, reaching 1,246 GWh compared to 1,156 GWh in the previous year. For the same period, Albania's state-owned hydropower plants produced 1,162 GWh of electricity, a 28.1% drop compared to 1,614 GWh in the first three months of the previous year.

 

INSTAT data also showed a significant increase in gross electricity imports, which reached 535 GWh, compared to 246 GWh in the same period in 2023. Albania's electricity exports, in turn, decreased by 10% to 814 GWh compared to 904 GWh in first quarter of 2023.
